 TOTAL ENERFLEX COMMISSIONING & START UP EXPERIENCE

TOTAL ENERFLEX has been involved in commissioning and start up of field and plant facilities, wells and pipelines since our inception.  Total has started many Enerflex manufactured facilities as well as playing a key role for many oil and gas owners for the commissioning and start up of unrelated operations.  After 15 years we still get asked daily, can Total commission and start up a……300M per day Hydrocarbon Dewpoint plant with a JT plant, etc.?   The answer is usually the same.  Although not this exact configuration, we certainly have past experience and have the expertise to do so in house.  On rare occasions, if we do not have experience, our pool of operators will.  When you review the start up experience of over 150 operators, you will certainly find almost any expertise as well as the ability to quickly become fluent and effective in any process or facility.  Answering the question is the easy part, and then the process of working on flexible options and assembling the best team for the challenge begins.

 

Option A – Commissioning & Start Up Support

Within this service offering, TOTAL ENERFLEX will gain a detailed understanding of your facility and start up requirements from a operations standpoint.  From here we will provide a Commissioning & Start Up support team with the skills and background necessary for your particular operation.  This can range from one consultant to an entire team; from supervision and team leads, to intermediate through senior start up professionals.  Our team will integrate seamlessly with your internal team to assist / oversee start up and commissioning.  Our scope can begin and end as required to meet your needs.  Our detailed understanding of your operations and culture will ensure we match the correct skill set and people to your team.  Generally, this option will involve some or all of the following: 

  • Plant / process review
  • Total’s team will complete internal process training if possible (manufacturing and/or process)
  • Provide support in completing and finalizing operations and process manuals
  • Update, create and/or review HAZOPS
  • Hands on operations support during pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up
  • Support in  documentation process as per client requirements
  • Deficiency list review and elimination
  • Initiate or update the communication system for hazardous and harmful chemicals within process
  • Initiate or update the shutdown key / equipment requirements
  • Ongoing consultation for trouble shooting and optimization

 

The flexibility of this option to tailor a solution to the needs of your current team and operation is truly advantageous.  This flexibility and consultative approach can shave time, money and costly mistakes from your start up.  Total Enerflex will compliment your team and work seamlessly with Enerflex Production & Processing as well as other service providers.

 

Option B – Start Up Support & Ongoing Operations & Training

This option is certainly a more comprehensive offering when internal resources are scarce and for plants or processes that are unfamiliar to producers.  When the prices were high, getting production on quickly was very important.  In the current commodity cycle prices are much lower and cost efficiency is crucial.  Interestingly enough, the solution is the exact same for our clients.  Our external expertise working seamlessly with your internal team can reduce costs and accelerate up your start up.

In option B we must define the scope and expectations in much greater detail; however, the production results are similar.  The key difference with this solution is we focus beyond start up and compliment your team through to ongoing operations and training.  Generally this option will involve some or all of the following: 

  • Plant / process review,
  • Total’s team will complete internal process training if possible
    • work with manufacturers and vendors to complete related equipment / process training
  • Review and update our internal process to work in conjunction with the owner group
  • Provide Support in completing and finalizing operations and process manuals
  • Hands on operations support during pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up
  • Support in  documentation process as per client requirements
  • Total can update or create internal processes to mold our processes to our clients for the start up and commissioning phase
  • Deficiency list review and elimination
  • Initiate or update communication system for hazardous and harmful chemicals within process
  • Initiate or update shutdown key / equipment requirements
  • Finalize documentation processes and procedures related to the current operation
  • Update, create and/or review HAZOPS
  • Ongoing consultation in trouble shooting and optimization
  • Mutually develop ongoing training program and operator competency evaluation program
  • Supply key personnel for ongoing operations schedule
  • Coordinate efforts within the Enerflex group of companies for any outside services required from Enerflex
  • Site Supervision – can be added initially into the offering to oversee construction of facilities, pipelines, and wells if necessary.  Completions and Workover consultants may also be included in this level
  • Engineering – our engineering team can assist with any trouble shooting or issues during start up or ongoing operations.
